White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said at a press briefing in Washington DC on Wednesday that American cities that do not comply with US federal immigration authorities might not receive federal government funding.

Spicer said that “the president is going to do everything he can in the scope of the executive order to make sure that cities who don’t comply with it, counties and institutions that remain sanctuary cities, don’t get federal government funding in compliance with the executive order.”
